This has been one hellaciously long winter. This time last year the snow was long gone. This year it’s still 3 feet deep in many places. The back 1/4 of my yard is flooded about 4″ deep over ice. The gates don’t open, but that’s okay because really can’t get to them. The shed I park my car in is also flooded, swamping some stuff that was being stored in there. The roof of my big storage shed is leaking, right over top of the nice sofa I had stored in there (anyone know how to de-waterlog a sofa?), and, just to add insult to injury, the ice dam off the back roof came crashing down, damaging my yard lantern and cracking a board on my back step. I’m afraid to go out there anymore to look for fear of what might be lying in wait next. Can I just curl up in bed and sleep away the next couple of weeks until the snow’s gone?
On a happier note, I made some Banana Banana Bread, with 1 c. of mini semisweet chocolate chips, and it was wonderful.
