Back on track
Third and biggest load to the storage unit yet! Thank you to my partner for the use of his car and his muscles. There’s no way most of this would have fit into my Smart (even with the seat folded down it would have been many trips), and a couple of the things were dang heavy for my delicate little arms. *ahem* Yeah, okay, that last is a load of malarkey, but I’m going to go with it anyway.
Here’s a pic of the loaded cart sitting on the scissor lift waiting to be wheeled into the building:
And here are pictures of the stuff distributed ever so elegantly in the storage unit:
It’s amazing how much room that single load has freed up in the living room. Most of it came from around the front entry, so now I can get in through the front door without having to turn sideways and hop. While this might not seem like much to many of you, for me this is a major step forward. I can actually get to a bunch of stuff that can be tossed now! Next step, toss the bunch of stuff that I can now get to.
I’m starting to feel overwhelmed by it all again. It’s just SO MUCH. The little avalanches every time I moved something to get to something else so I could move it to get to the thing I wanted to take to storage were frustrating in the extreme. It’s discouraging how things sometimes look worse after I’ve been working at it. In fact, it often seems to be related to how hard I’ve been working–the harder the work, the worse-looking the result.
Oh well, soon it should start looking like I’m getting somewhere. I hope. Please, gawd, let it soon start looking like I’m getting somewhere.
You have superior stacking skills! I’m so very impressed!
Hang in there through the discouraging/frustrating bits. This too shall pass. Keep calm and carry on. Or whatever. YOU CAN DO IT.
Thanks! Would you be even more impressed if I told you that it was also stacked so as to hide the yucky-looking things? 😉
It was so nice to bring home some groceries the other night and be able to just walk in through the front without any complicated maneuvering. That helped offset the frustration considerably, because it was a tangible improvement.
That’s a pretty significant sized load on that cart!
And any time you feel discouraged, just walk in and out of that door to remind yourself of the tangible progress. 🙂
