Rollercoaster
It’s been a chaotic month since my last post. I managed to get a bag of what appears to be tainted dog food. Three large dogs with diarrhea is not a good situation. Fortunately I was able to narrow it down to the food pretty quickly and get them back on track with entirely new food.
Beardog then ended up with a flare-up in her arthritis which left her nearly unable to walk for a day. Quick emergency trip to the vet for Metacam and a check to make sure it wasn’t something worse.
All of this managed to resolve itself only one day before I had to be out of town for a conference. The conference went well. Thank gawd.
Needless to say, nothing much has been happening around the house in this time. Oh, I did manage to get my car changed over to winter tires, and I got a couple of bins out to the shed on the weekend. It doesn’t seem to have made any noticeable difference, however, which is frustrating.
I tested my dead computer and it’s a “good news, bad news” situation. The power failure only killed the power supply and not the motherboard, which is good. However, it also seems to have taken out the hard drive, which is bad. the recovery software can still see the hard drive, which is good; but it appears to be seriously corrupted, which is bad. Now I have to decide if it’s worth trying to recover the existing hard drive or spend money I don’t really have on a new computer. Of course this is all happening while a client is waiting for changes to the company logo that I’m supposed to be creating for them.
I’m at the point of worrying that everyone will suddenly discover that I’m not nearly as nice or as competent as they all believed, and will sneer while walking away in disgust. (Please don’t you guys do that, ‘k?) I’m definitely ready for a little “boring” in my world; I’ve had more than enough of the “overwhelming”, please and thank you.
And, to end on a happy note, the non-mobius skirt is done!! It just needs a waist elastic and some lining which will hopefully happen in the next week or so. See, here it is, hot off the needles!!
