Assorted oddments
Just a brief couple of pictures to share with you. First off is the aforementioned stew. The incandescent light doesn’t do it justice, and it’s a bit blurry, but it tasted absolutely wonderful!
Next, an interesting curiosity that I thought you’d get a kick out of. B & I were snooping around the used truck section of a Ford dealer, and we found these little gems in the box of one of the trucks. They’re made of poplar fuzz (and assorted other wafty-type seeds) and made round by being rolled around in the box by the wind. They’re so delicate that they squash with next to no pressure; you can actually squash them before you can even really feel them.
Okay – that poplar fuzz may be the coolest thing ever. THe kidney stew… omg…. bleargh.
Most of the meat in the pic is the steak part of “steak ‘n’ kidney”, if that helps?
Those poplar fuzzballs are a highlight of my magpie-ish existence, too!
